mRelief Launches Platform to Support Recertification in Tennessee

To support timely recertification and prevent program churn, mRelief in partnership with Tennessee Department of Human Services and Kroger Zero Hunger | Zero Waste Foundation, designed a platform to help clients who currently receive SNAP (food stamps) understand when they must submit required renewal forms and supporting verifications. This platform just launched in Tennessee.

In order to access their information through Tennessee Case Connect, the client must provide their name, email address, date of birth and last four digits of Social Security number to mRelief as shown below.

Then, mRelief technology programmatically enters these inputs into Tennessee Case Connect to access the client’s case status and renewal information.

Case Connect, created by the Tennessee Department of Human Services, provides client information on when they need to submit the Simplified Report to keep their benefits active.

With this case information, mRelief’s technology can send text message reminders a few weeks before the Simplified Report is due. In addition to the reminder, mRelief includes a link to complete the form online.

After the client completes the Simplified Report through the website, mRelief technology programmatically fills out the PDF of the Simplified Report and uploads it to Case Connect with any relevant verifications to ensure that the case remains active and the client does not churn unnecessarily.

While 42 states currently receive have the Extended Certification Periods waiver and 30 states have the Waive Periodic Reporting waiver due to COVID-19, when these waivers expire and more households need to recertify than ever before, this platform can be customized for the systems in a particular state.
