Conversations about SNAP this month spiked, as new and changing SNAP-related policies have floated out of Texas and the White House, and some online retailers have started accepting SNAP for online grocery shopping.

Amazon and Walmart are among a handful of online retailers that, through a pilot program in certain states, are accepting SNAP for online grocery shopping. People voiced that this could be a game-changer for many people who live in retail-redlined areas or people who don’t have the ability to go to stores. Others pointed out flaws that this offering doesn’t cover the delivery fee many retailers have which SNAP users may not be able to afford.

But it doesn’t cover the delivery fee. Delivery should be free for anyone who pays with food stamps. It's not a big expense for the retailer, but might be a big difference for a family needing that little bit of cash.
