Majority of our Facebook Users are 55 or older

At mRelief, we often get asked, “who’s on Facebook?” Facebook is one of our top resources to reach SNAP-eligible individuals, and there’s a misconception about who those people are.

Many people assume that they are Millennials who are computer literate, but in 2018, a Pew Research Study found that 68% of all US adults are on Facebook, with 74% of them checking the site daily.

But the important question is, who are mRelief’s users on Facebook? We dug into our ads on Facebook to gain insights about the people who find us there and go on to be SNAP eligible.

Here’s a breakdown of people who clicked our ads and completed our screener from Facebook:

55% of people who completed our screener after clicking our link on Facebook were above the age of 55 years old, with 25% of our total users falling into the senior category. Only about 12% of users fall into the “Millennial” category.

While it’s true that younger generations are spending most of their time online and on mobile devices, we have found that we are able to effectively reach a range of audiences, especially seniors, using Facebook.
